How do I fix a screen that doesn’t display correctly in CargoDisk?

This problem is caused by certain pages in the application using a non-Unicode character set.

  1. Open the Control Panel and double click the Regional and Language Options icon.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. There will be a dropdown list under the section Language for non-Unicode Programs, Select English (United States).
  4. Click OK and restart the PC.
  5. Unfortunately this option will be used for all non-Unicode applications and may affect some older applications that are not using a Unicode character set. There doesn't seem to be a way to set this option on a per application basis.

How do I install CargoDisk multiuser via terminal services/Citrix?

CargoDisk wasn’t designed to work across terminal server for this product.

CargoDisk is designed to run in multiuser in a LAN environment only. When the application is installed in a LAN server machine, a new user accessing the program from a client machine is prompted to create a new working directory where the user profile is stored.

This directory is registered with the local client machine through “OAG TIS Windows” registry key, so every client machine in a LAN environment can create one profile. In a TS/CITRIX environment however, the user accesses a server and uses the server registry key, therefore the CargoDisk application can create one and only one working directory, resulting in allowing only one user at a time to access the program.

We do have some customers who have been able to successfully make the application work on a TS/CITRIX platform. They recommended doing the following to the registry key to enable this process to work:-

The following registry key needs to be changed to point the user’s home drive:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OAG Worldwide\OAG TIS Windows\Directories]

"HomeDirectory"="homedrive:\\data\\flightdisk\\OAGCDPLN"

This results in each user having their own environment on their home drive separate from any other user.

If after the above has been done and works correctly users are prompted to create a working directory each time they access the application, please look at the following procedure:

If users are not able to write to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OAG Worldwide\OAG TIS Windows\Directories key, the permissions will need to been changed on that key, and users should now able to access the application without being prompted for a working directory each time.

How do I install CargoDisk on the Mac? (new Intel versions only)

Mac users who wish to use CargoDisk CD-Rom can now do so providing they are using the latest Intel Pentium based Mac’s.
There is a beta test version of this software available free from the apple website.
This can be downloaded via the following URL: http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/.
Boot camp is available as standard on the Leopard version of the operating system and above. Users wishing to support both operating systems will require a software license for
Windows XP or Vista to run alongside the Mac Os. This is currently the only way that Mac users can install these products as there is no native version of the product to run under the Mac operating system in its own right.

How do I resolve the 'Failed to set data for...' error when installing CargoDisk?

This error message indicates that you don’t have the necessary rights to install the software on your PC. To resolve this you will need to speak to your IT department.

CargoDisk creates a directory in the root of the C: drive called C:\OAGTPSU creating a number of sub directories within it. Users need permissions to update and access this folder. The final part of the update process writes to a registry entry under H_Key local machine where there is an OAG Worldwide folder.

The user must be able to write to this entry for the update to succeed.
