30 Sep 2011: Post release enhancements have been added (see adjacent Enhancements tab).
The following enhancements went live on 30 Sep:
1. Codeshare Flights
- Codeshare flights are now included in the flight listings
A * after an airline code indicates that the flight is operated by another carrier
- When you mouseover or hover over a codeshare flight the name of the operating carrier is displayed
The Highlight preferred carriers and Filter functions also apply to codeshare flights
Definition: A codeshare is an arrangement where airlines share the same flight (one operating; one or more marketing). Space can be purchased with one airline but is actually operated by a co-operating airline under a different flight number or code.
2. Missing Flights
Flights visible in the previous version appeared to be missing from the new version. This was down to a few reasons:
- The operating carrier hadn’t provided UBMA with the data
- The codeshare flights had been suppressed (suppression has now been enabled). For direct flights these should now be visible.
3. Connecting Flights
Introducing automated connections reduces the time it takes to search for flights. Connecting flights which are more than twice the distance compared to a straight line are not included.
4. Number of stops
Number of stops are shown in the Search Results window.
Viewing the flight details now shows where the flight(s) stop (airport code and full name are listed).
Automatic Logout
Some users have been logged out of the system when navigating forward through the Search Results page display.
This error has now been resolved.
